- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. yellow corn meal
- 1/3 c. grated Parmesan and Romano cheese
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- vegetable oil
- 8 to 10 wooden skewers
- 1 lb. hot dogs or veggie dogs
Method
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Stir in milk, egg and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil.
- Insert wooden skewer in each hot dog.
- Dip in batter, coating completely.
- Deep fry at 325° until golden, about 2 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot.
