Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. salad dressing
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. mustard

Method

  • Mix cornstarch, sugar and salt in top container of double boiler. Add water and vinegar gradually. Add eggs and cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat. Add butter and cool thoroughly. Blend in salad dressing and mustard. Store in refrigerator. Keeps for weeks. Makes 1 quart.
