Ingredients
- 2 3/4 c. sifted plain flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. butter (1 stick plus a little more)
- 1 box light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Method
- Slice butter in thin slices in bowl.
- Add brown sugar and cream well.
- Add eggs, one at a time, and beat.
- Add flour, salt and baking powder; beat.
- Add flavoring and beat.
- Stir in by hand the nuts and chocolate chips.
- Grease large pan or 2 square cake pans.
- Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool in pan for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Cut into bars.
- Remove to wire rack or a storage container.
