Ingredients

  • 3 lb. hamburger
  • 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. medium noodles
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 1/3 c. chopped scallions

Method

  • Brown meat slightly.
  • Stir in tomato sauce.
  • Cook noodles and add butter to drained noodles.
  • Mix together cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, green pepper and scallions.
  • Butter a large casserole dish.
  • Layer half noodles, layer of all cheese mixture, then rest of noodles.
  • Top with meat layer, smoothing it over. Bake uncovered at 350° until bubbly and slightly brown on top for about an hour.
  • Freezes well.
  • Serves 8.
