Ingredients

  • 4 hard rolls (kaiser or ciabatta)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 8 ounces sliced swiss cheese
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced turkey breast
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced smoked ham
  • 4 dill pickles, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Method

  • Heat a nonstick griddle, grill pan, or skillet over medium heat.
  • Slice the rolls in half, spread with mustard, and then add a layer of the cheese to both sides of each roll.
  • Continue building the sandwich by layering the turkey, ham, and pickles on one side of each roll.
  • Close the sandwiches.
  • Melt the butter on the griddle and add the sandwiches, weighing them down with a heavy skillet.
  • Cook for 3 minutes on each side, pressing down occasionally to flatten, until the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted.
  • Slice in half and serve immediately.
