Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour (plain)
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon flavoring
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Method

  • Cream sugar, Crisco and margarine with eggs until smooth.
  • Add salt to flour along with baking soda.
  • Mix alternately with flour mix until all used.
  • Beat until smooth, adding the flavorings. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  • Pour batter in pan; place in cold oven.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out on cake plate.
