Ingredients
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. cooked potatoes, sieved while hot
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 7 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
Method
- Cream shortening and sugar, add warm potatoes.
- Mix well, add eggs and salt.
- Beat well.
- Dissolve yeast in water and add alternately with flour.
- Knead until smooth.
- Let rise until double in bulk.
- Roll out on floured board about 3/4 inch thick.
- Place in greased pan, let rise.
- Cover with cream or undiluted canned milk, sugar and cinnamon.
- Bake 20 minutes at 350°.
- Remove from oven and dot with cream or a thin glaze of cream and powdered sugar.
