Ingredients

  • 2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
  • 2/3 c. flaked coconut
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda and salt

Method

  • In oven, toast oats and coconut until golden brown.
  • Thoroughly cream margarine and sugar.
  • Add eggs, milk and vanilla.
  • Beat well. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and blend well.
  • Stir in oats and coconut.
  • Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on ungreased cooking sheet.
  • Flatten with tumbler dipped in sugar. Bake in 400° oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned. Makes 4 dozen.
