Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 c. warm water

Method

  • Melt butter for the top of rolls when you bake them.
  • Soften dry yeast in warm water.
  • Scald milk; add sugar, salt and shortening.
  • Add flour and mix well.
  • Add softened yeast and eggs; beat well.
  • Add enough flour to make a soft dough.
  • Turn out onto floured board and knead.
  • Place in greased bowl to let rise until double.
  • Make into rolls and let rise in greased baking pans. Bake at 350° until brown.
