Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 pkg. fast acting yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. soft shortening
- 1 egg
- approximately 5 c. sifted flour
Method
- Pour warm water into large mixing bowl.
- Add sugar and yeast; let stand a few minutes.
- Stir to dissolve.
- Add salt, shortening and egg; stir.
- Add half of flour and beat until smooth.
- Add rest of flour and knead on floured board.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place about 30 minutes.
- Form rolls in greased muffin tins or roll pan.
- Let rise and bake 10 to 15 minutes at 400°.
