Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. shredded apples
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
  • Add combined dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
  • Fold in apples.
  • Pour into pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until done. Cool and frost with vanilla icing and sprinkle with nuts.
