Ingredients

  • 2 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. (2 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 each: chopped bell pepper and onion (optional)

Method

  • Combine first 7 ingredients in a lightly greased 2-quart shallow baking dish.
  • Saute 1/2 chopped onion and bell pepper until cooked thoroughly.
  • Add to first mixture.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour, stirring once.
  • Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
  • Yields 8 servings.
