Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 5 c. self-rising flour
- milk (if necessary; small amount at time)
- decorative sugars, beads, candies, etc.
Method
- Cream butter and sugar, adding sugar, a little at a time.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Add vanilla. Add flour, one cup at a time, sifting flour all around the bowl as you are mixing.
- Batter should be sort of stiff, but not too stiff.
- Add milk, a small amount at a time.
