Ingredients

  • 12 tomatoes
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 2 onions
  • 1/2 c. hot peppers (1 c. if you desire very hot)
  • 2 c. vinegar
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt

Method

  • Put tomatoes in pan of boiling water, then take out immediately.
  • Put tomatoes in a pan of cold water.
  • Peelings come off easily.
  • Discard peelings.
  • Cut tomatoes in large chunks.
  • Mix sugar, vinegar, chopped onions, chopped peppers and salt.
  • Blend well. Mix with tomatoes in large pan.
  • Cook on stove top for 2 1/2 hours over medium heat.
