Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Beat batter at medium speed about 2 minutes or until soft and creamy.
  • Add sugar, beating at medium speed 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Beat until yellow disappears.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and cocoa.
  • Add to cream mixture.
  • Stir in vanilla. Bake in tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
