Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 6 Tbsp. whole milk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Prepare any flavored packaged cake mix as package directs. Fill flat-bottomed wafer ice cream cones 2/3 full with cake mixture.
  • Stand cones on a jelly-roll pan or cookie sheet.
  • Bake according to package instructions for cupcakes; cool.
  • Frost and decorate with colored sprinkles.
