Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4-5 tbsp. flour
- 1/4 cocoa
- 4 eggs
- 2 c. canned milk
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 tbsp. vanilla
- 1 baked 9 in. deep dish pie crust
Method
- Mix together sugar, cocoa, flour, milk, yolks of eggs and butter.
- Cook over medium heat until thick.
- Add vanilla and let cool.
- Pour into baked pie crust and top with meringue that has been beaten until stiff peaks form.
- Add 5 tbsp. sugar to meringue and 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar.
- Brown at 350 degrees.
