Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips, at room temperature
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • pecan halves, if desired
  • whipped cream, if desired

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Combine first 5 ingredients; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips that have been allowed to reach room temperature and chopped pecans.
  • Pour into pie shell.
  • Arrange pecan halves on top, if desired. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until set.
  • Cool.
  • Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
