Ingredients
- 3 eggs, separated
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 (9-inch) deep dish pie crust (unbaked)
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Place egg yolks, sugar, flour, cocoa and salt in heavy saucepan.
- Gradually add milk; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, to full boil.
- Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
- Stir and pour into pie shell.
- Top with meringue.
- Bake at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes.
