Ingredients
- 1 box devil's food cake mix
- 1/4 c. plain flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
- 1 c. sugar
Method
- Bake cake in 2 thin layers in 9 x 13-inch pan by directions on box.
- Let cool on rack and then cut cakes in half to have 4 layers.
- Mix 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup flour and cook well.
- Set aside and let the mixture get cold.
- Mix butter, Crisco, sugar and vanilla.
- Beat all together well, then stir in Cool Whip.
- Put this mixture between cooled cake layers and freeze.
