Ingredients
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. butter
- 4 level Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. sweet milk
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs.
- Sift flour, soda, baking powder and cocoa. Add alternately with milk.
- Add nuts.
- Drop with teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
- Spread slightly.
- (These are a soft cake-like texture.) Bake at 350° for 12 minutes. I always frost them with powdered sugar frosting, plain or add cocoa for chocolate frosting.
- Yields 2 dozen.
