Ingredients

  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. quick oatmeal
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. walnuts, chopped
  • 1 c. corn flakes

Method

  • Cream sugars, shortening and eggs.
  • Add vanilla and mix in. Sift together and add flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Mix well and add chips, nuts, corn flakes and oatmeal.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Makes 7 dozen crunchy chocolate chip cookies.
