Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. oatmeal
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1 (4 oz.) Hershey bar with almonds, crumbled
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Cream butter and sugars.
  • Add eggs and vanilla.
  • In blender, process oatmeal until powdery.
  • In a separate bowl, combine oatmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Add to creamed mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar and chopped nuts.
  • Cook on ungreased cookie sheet at 375° for 6 minutes.
  • (Bake only six minutes; cookies will not seem done, but will set.)
  • Yield:
  • 50 to 60 large cookies.
