Ingredients

  • 8 or 9 in. pie crust
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 1 oz. squares of chocolate (unsweetened)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk, undiluted
  • 2 eggs
  • few grains salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Place butter and chocolate in small saucepan and melt, stirring constantly.
  • Pour mixture into a small bowl; add sugar, flour, milk, eggs, salt and vanilla.
  • Beat mixture at moderate speed 5-7 minutes until thick and creamy (scrape bowl occasionally with spatula).
  • Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake 40-45 minutes until filling is firm.
