Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. oats, uncooked
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.
  • Add flour, soda and salt; mix well.
  • Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts; mix well.
  • Drop by measuring tablespoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for crisp cookie.
  • Cool 1 minute, remove to rack, cool completely.
  • Makes 5 dozen.
