Ingredients

  • 1 can bean sprouts
  • 1 can carrots
  • 1 can string beans
  • 1 can Shoe Peg corn
  • 1 can English peas
  • 1 can bamboo shoots
  • 1 large jar chopped pimento
  • 1 (15 oz.) can water chestnuts, cut up
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 diced green pepper
  • 1/2 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white vinegar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • dash of Tabasco

Method

  • Drain first 7 ingredients for 1 hour.
  • Add water chestnuts, celery, onion and bell pepper.
  • Bring remaining ingredients to a boil and pour over vegetable mixture.
  • Refrigerate 24 hours.
