Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, cut in wedges
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3/4 c. vinegar
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 lb. fresh plums, quartered
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
Method
- In saucepan, cook onion in oil until soft.
- Mix cornstarch with vinegar and sugar. Add to onion. Cook, stirring until thickened. Add plums, salt and extract. Continue cooking until fruit is tender.
- Spoon some sauce over partially cooked spareribs. Grill, brushing frequently with sauce.
- Heat remaining sauce to serve with barbecued spareribs.
- Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
