Ingredients

  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburg or ground turkey
  • dash of red pepper
  • 3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tsp. chili powder or to taste
  • 2 c. drained and rinsed red kidney beans
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 small cans tomato sauce

Method

  • Rub skillet with garlic powder.
  • Add oil and heat.
  • Add peppers and onion.
  • Do not brown.
  • Add meat and brown.
  • Add chili pepper and mix well.
  • Add tomatoes, beans and water.
  • Season with salt. Cover and let simmer gently 30 to 40 minutes.
