Ingredients
- 2 lb. hamburger
- 1 large onion
- 1 heaping tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. salt (more or less to taste)
- 2 qt. tomato juice
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 qt. dark red kidney beans, drained
Method
- Brown hamburger in pan with finely cut onion.
- A little cooking oil may be added.
- When brown, sprinkle chili powder on top.
- Also, add salt; mix.
- Add tomato juice, sugar and beans. Heat; serve with crackers or add 1 pint cooked macaroni instead. Navy beans may be used instead of kidney beans.
