Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 10 1/2 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 3 oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Coat chicken breasts with flour.
  • Melt butter and pour into a shallow baking dish.
  • Lay chicken breasts (skin side down) on top of melted butter and bake for 30 minutes. Turn chicken and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  • Pour off excess fat.
  • Reduce oven temperature to 325°.
  • Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chicken.
  • Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes.
