Ingredients

  • 1 lb. boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. minced garlic
  • 3 to 4 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. finely chopped tomatoes
  • 6 Tbsp. chicken broth
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano and chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. tortillas

Method

  • Simmer chicken in 10-inch skillet 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Remove and cool.
  • Shred chicken.
  • Saute onion and garlic in 1 tablespoon oil 1 to 3 minutes.
  • Mix ingredients and saute 3 to 5 minutes.
  • In large skillet, heat 3 to 4 cups oil.
  • Fill, fold tortillas and fry.
