Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 (3 lb.) broiler-fryer, cut up
  • 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
  • 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • dash of pepper

Method

  • About 1 hour before serving:
  • In 12-inch skillet, over medium-high heat, in hot margarine, cook chicken until browned on all sides.
  • In cup, combine remaining ingredients; pour mixture over chicken and heat to boiling.
  • Reduce heat to low; cover skillet and simmer 35 minutes or until chicken is fork-tender, basting frequently with liquid in skillet.
  • Makes 4 servings.
