Ingredients

  • 10 oz. pkg. egg noodles, uncooked
  • 1/4 c. margarine or butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. light cream
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 10 3/4 oz. can condensed chicken broth
  • 4 c. cooked cubed chicken
  • 4 oz. can mushrooms, undrained
  • 1/2 to 1 c. buttered bread cubes
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Grease 2 1/2-quart casserole.
  • Cook noodles as directed; drain.
  • In medium saucepan, melt margarine; blend in flour.
  • Stir in cream, salt and broth.
  • Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  • Combine chicken, mushrooms and noodles in casserole.
  • Pour mixture over casserole.
  • Sprinkle with bread cubes and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour or until center is bubbly and top is browned (lightly).
