Ingredients
- 2 chickens (about 2 1/4 lb. each)
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2/3 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 6 whole peppercorns
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 2 c. water
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 2/3 Tbsp. sugar
Method
- Cut chicken into pieces.
- Brown chicken in the cooking oil. Add garlic, salt, pepper, water, peppercorns, bay leaves, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar.
- Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour or until chicken is tender, stirring frequently.
- Remove bay leaves and peppercorns.
- Serve with cooked rice.
