Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed fennel seeds
  • 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 6 oz. ground chuck/turkey
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped green pepper
  • 6 large garlic cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. cornmeal
  • 2 (11 oz.) pkg. refrigerated French bread dough
  • 3/4 c. shredded part-skim Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 c. grated Romano cheese

Method

  • Combine first 7 ingredients in a small saucepan, stirring well.
  • Place over low heat until well heated.
