Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 (1 lb.) box light brown sugar
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. butternut flavoring
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 c. coconut flakes

Method

  • Melt butter in heavy saucepan over low heat and add sugar. Remove from heat.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well with large wooden spoon.
  • Add flour, vanilla, butternut flavoring, coconut flakes and pecans.
  • Mix with wooden spoon.
  • Pour in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  • Cool and cut into squares.
