Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. currants
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped cherries
  • 2 2/3 c. Kellogg's corn flakes cereal, crushed to 1 1/3 c.
  • 15 cherries, cut into quarters

Method

  • Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
  • In large mixing bowl beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beat well.
  • Stir in milk and vanilla.
  • Add flour mixture; mix until combined.
  • Stir in nuts, currants and chopped cherries. Portion dough using measuring tablespoon.
  • Shape into balls.
  • Roll in crushed Kellogg's corn flakes cereal.
  • Place about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
  • Top each with cherry quarter. Bake at 375°, about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Remove immediately from baking sheets.
  • Cool.

  • about 5 dozen.
