Ingredients
- 2 c. sour cherries
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 3 c. flour
Method
- Drain cherries, keeping 1 cup juice.
- Cream shortening with 1 cup sugar, beat in eggs.
- Add milk with flour and baking powder. Beat until smooth.
- Pour into greased cake pan.
- Mix cherries with remaining sugar and cherry juice.
- Heat and pour over batter. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Eat with whipped cream or milk.
