Ingredients

  • 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 c. drained, sour pitted cherries (No. 2 can)
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Method

  • Sift together dry ingredients and stir into them the egg and cherries.
  • Fold in nuts and turn into greased and wax papered 9-inch layer pan.
  • Bake 45 minutes at 350°.
  • Cut into wedges and serve with whipped cream or ice cream topped with cherry sauce.
