Ingredients

  • 9 inch pie shell
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 13 cup chopped onion
  • 12 cup water or 12 cup milk
  • 12 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 12 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 14 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1 cup grated medium cheddar

Method

  • Roll out pastry and fit into pie plate.
  • Combine ground beef and onion in fry pan.
  • Brown with a little oil if desired, until beef is no longer pink, and onion is clear.
  • Add water or milk, bread crumbs, ketchup, salt, pepper, and oregano.
  • Mix well.
  • Cool slightly.
  • Pour into pie shell.
  • Smooth top.
  • Sprinkle cheese over top.
  • Cover with top crust and bake uncovered at 350 degrees F.
  • for 45 minutes.
  • Cuts into 6 wedges.
