Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. + 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2/3 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Method

  • Cream butter and brown sugar.
  • Add flour and nuts and mix.
  • Set aside two cups of the mixture for topping.
  • Press remainder in bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Blend sugar and cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add eggs, milk, lemon juice and vanilla.
  • Beat well.
  • Spread over bottom crust; sprinkle with reserved two cups of topping.
  • Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes more.
  • Cool, then chill and cut into 48 pieces.
