Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper
  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • pecan halves

Method

  • Combine cheese and butter; mix until well blended.
  • Sift flour and pepper.
  • Gradually stir into cheese mixture.
  • Roll 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured board.
  • Cut into 1-inch rounds.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet; brush with egg white.
  • Top with pecan half.
  • Bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes.
