Ingredients
- 2 c. plain flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. grated Cheddar
Method
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt into large mixing bowl. Cut shortening in until mixture looks like grains of rice; stir in cheese. Stir in milk with a fork just to make a soft dough. Place dough on lightly floured surface and knead 6 to 8 times. Roll 1/2-inch thick and cut with floured cutter. Bake at 425° about 10 to 12 minutes, until golden on top.
