Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen hash browns, slightly thawed
  • 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 16 oz. carton sour cream
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 c. diced onions
  • 1/2 diced green pepper
  • 1 stick margarine or butter, cut in pieces
  • 2 c. corn flakes, crushed

Method

  • Crush corn flakes and combine with 1/2 stick melted margarine; set aside. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a large bowl. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan or two 8 x 8-inch pans.
  • Spread in potato mixture. Sprinkle corn flake mixture over potatoes.
  • Shake on paprika for color, if desired.
  • Preheat oven to 350° and bake for 1 hour.
