- 1 small head cabbage
- 1 large or 2 medium onions, sliced
- 64 oz. can chicken stock or broth
- equal amount water
- 4 c. tomato juice
- 1 (32 oz.) can stewed tomatoes or crushed tomatoes
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 tsp. Italian dressing or 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. marjoram
- dash of salt
Method
- Place all ingredients in large stockpot; bring to a boil over high heat.
- Then reduce and simmer 60 to 90 minutes until cabbage is tender and flavors have blended.
