Ingredients

  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1 large or 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 64 oz. can chicken stock or broth
  • equal amount water
  • 4 c. tomato juice
  • 1 (32 oz.) can stewed tomatoes or crushed tomatoes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 2 tsp. Italian dressing or 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • dash of salt

Method

  • Place all ingredients in large stockpot; bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Then reduce and simmer 60 to 90 minutes until cabbage is tender and flavors have blended.
