Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. cashew nuts, finely crushed

Method

  • Sift together flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Cream together butter and gradually add brown sugar and white sugar; cream well. Blend in egg and vanilla; beat well. Add the dry ingredients gradually and mix thoroughly. Stir in nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 5 dozen.
