Ingredients

  • 8 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 12 cup white corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon burnt sugar flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon butter flavoring
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • peanuts

Method

  • Bring to a slow boil, the margarine, corn syrup, salt, and 2 cups brown sugar.
  • Cook for 5 minutes after mixture begins to boil.
  • (Stir and watch, this will burn easily).
  • Then remove from heat and thoroughly stir in flavorings.
  • After flavorings are combined, add baking soda (this will make it foam).
  • Pour over papped corn;add peanuts.
  • Stir together, then put in large cake pan;put in 250 degree oven for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Turn out on a cloth to cool.
  • When completely cool, store in airtight container.
