Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. other flavoring to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 loaf French bread

Method

  • In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and syrup. Simmer until bubbly. Pour over bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch glass dish. Remove crust from bread and place slices over syrup mixture. Beat eggs, milk, flavoring, sugar and salt. Pour over bread; cover and refrigerate overnight.
