Ingredients
- 1 lb. (28) caramels
- 1/4 c. oleo
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pie shell
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. pecan halves
Method
- Melt in double boiler the caramels, water and oleo. Gradually add hot caramel sauce to eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla, stirring well.
- Add pecans.
- Bake in uncooked pie shell at 400° for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350° and continue to cook for 40 minutes more.
