Ingredients
- 36 Kraft caramels
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. pecan halves
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
Method
- Melt caramels with water and margarine in saucepan over low heat.
- Stir frequently until sauce is smooth.
- Combine sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla.
- Gradually add caramel sauce; mix well. Stir in nuts; pour into pastry shell.
- Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes. Pie filling will appear to be very soft, but becomes firm as it cools.
